Synopsis for Altamaha Sound GA to Flagler Beach FL out to 60 nm
222 PM EDT Fri Apr 4 2025
SYNOPSIS
Strong high pressure centered near Bermuda will maintain gusty southeast to southerly winds across our local waters through Saturday evening. A southerly wind surge will likely result in Caution conditions developing offshore on Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile, a strong cold front entering the southeastern states on Sunday will shift prevailing winds to southwesterly, with Caution conditions likely expanding to the near shore waters. Showers and thunderstorms will then overspread our local waters on Monday afternoon and evening as the cold front approaches our region from the northwest, with a few strong thunderstorms possible. Gusty northwesterly winds will develop in the wake of this frontal passage by early Tuesday morning, with winds shifting to northerly by Tuesday afternoon as high pressure building over the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys begins to wedge down the southeastern seaboard. Weak low pressure developing over the Bahamas towards midweek will likely bring Small Craft Advisory conditions to our local waters as northeasterly winds strengthen and seas build.
