Warm and dry weather will continue through the rest of this week, with highs reaching the 90s by this weekend.
Warm temperatures are forecast today with most areas seeing highs in the 80s. A weak cold front will be nothing more than a wind shift with some gusty north winds this afternoon.
It will be quiet again with light east-northeast winds, mostly clear skies, and low temperatures in the 40s to lower 50s.

 

 

 

Local Weather History For April 9th...
1947: Perhaps one of the most violent tornadoes ever to strike the Texas Panhandle occurred this afternoon in Carson,
Hemphill and Lipscomb Counties before continuing its 221 mile total track into Woodward, OK. This massive tornado
completely destroyed the town of Glazier and grew to one mile in width when it struck Higgins. In Texas alone, 68 people
died, another 201 were injured and around $1.5M in damage was sustained.
