Temperatures will continue to climb through the remainder of the work week, reaching well above normal. The peak of the heat is likely to occur on Thursday & Friday, and possibly Saturday, with a high chance for portions of the lower deserts, including Phoenix, to reach or exceed 100°.
Minor HeatRisk across the lower deserts to start the week will increase to Moderate HeatRisk on Thursday and Friday as temperatures climb into the upper 90s to just over 100°.
High temperatures later this week are forecast to reach or exceed 100 degrees in many lower desert locations. This will be earlier in the year than normal, but not the earliest on record.
With some of the hottest temperatures of the year so far in the forecast later this week, and likely our first 100 degree day for many places across the lower deserts, it is important to take precautions to protect yourself from the heat, especially if you are particularly sensitive to these conditions. In addition to the tips listed here, it is a good idea to get into the practice of checking the back seat before locking your car!
